The Politicians Wouldn't Give Us a Bum Steer?

Angela Merkel welcomed migrants to Germany in August 2015.
At the time she was telling other European countries to do the same.
The German people are furious and by December of the same year Angela Merkel was talking about forced repatriation of migrants who don't meet the criteria.

The migrants streaming across europe are all talking about going to Germany.

The Germans have put a border up with Austria, Austria has closed its borders, Hungaria has closed its borders etc etc.  Where in Shengen now?

The policy of the UK government to help Syrians fleeing the conflict is a good one.

Merkel was completely irresponsible.  Why would the UK citizens want to be dictated to by Merkel or any other European leader?

Cameron said he would come back from Europe with Treaty change and if he didn't then he would lead the campaign to leave europe.  He came back with nothing and has reneged on his words.
He has badly mis-judged the feelings of the British public.  Has it crossed his mind why the Tories were returned to power with such a resounding result?  Anything to do with offering a referendum?

Theresa May bemoans the fact that as Home Secretary she cannot control UK immigration because of freedom of movement within the EU.  Shame on you for cozying up to Cameron to recommend we stay in the EU.  Where have your principals gone?

Calais Campers

Dave says that if we don't stay in the EU then the French will send the Calais campers to the United Kingdom.

I have never heard anything quite so pathetic.  The Prime Minister of a government threatening the people who elected that government with the arrival of illegal immigrants if the people don't vote the way he wants.

To put things in perspective, there are 5000 happy campers in Calais and your government presided over net migration of 350,000 last year alone.

Your government is charged by the people with protecting our borders Dave.  Get on with your job.

Hand over the fish............or you cannot join the common market.

The United Kingdom was not allowed to join the Common Market in the 1970's unless it handed over fishing grounds to the Common Market that contained an estimated fourth fifths of all the fish in Western Europe.

If we leave the EU then we remain in the European free trade zone.  After all, we paid handsomely for the privilege.

We love you long time.

There is absolutely no doubt that the British people love European people.

Never has a continent owed so much, to so few, living on such a small Island.

After saving Europe, the United Kingdom was penniless in 1946 and had to take out massive loans from the US and Canada.  These loans took 60 years to repay.
Despite this, the UK independent nuclear deterrent played its part in safeguarding Europe through the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s.
During this time, countries such as Germany spent their wealth on building industries while free from the burden of defence spending.

Respect.

Sovereign State

sovereign state is a state with borders where people live, and where a government makes laws and talks to other sovereign states. The people have to follow the laws that the government makes.

The British people voted to remain in the Common Market in June 1975.  This was a free trade arrangement only.

The Common Market has evolved into the European Union.

Being part of the European Union means the United Kingdom is no longer a Sovereign State.  Most importantly:

The British people are subject to European laws.
The European laws are introduced by politicians that the British people did not vote for.
Great Britain cannot control its borders.
